Our fascination with the royal family still continues to grow and with the upcoming Kings' Coronation only a few weeks away, we're already thinking about the celebrations, but more importantly we're particularly intrigued by what King Charles III likes to eat and drink when he's not busy touring the country on royal engagements.
You might be expecting a royal feast every time he sits down for a meal, but the list of items that the King eats and favours is surprisingly simple and affordable too.
When it comes to an average day-to-day of eating, the King enjoys eating meals that includes wholegrains, fresh fruits and vegetables. Foraged mushrooms, organic eggs, cheese and crackers, and locally-raised in-season lamb make appearances on his food menu but the King follows a mostly plant-based diet and tends to skip lunch entirely too, according to the 70 facts released about him on the prince of wales website.
He occasionally goes for heartier meals like pheasant pie and risotto, and let's not forget about his love for a dram of Scotch whisky and a martini, but the King is a really big fan of eggs, with one of his favourite meals being cheesy baked eggs and coddled eggs, which he tends to have every morning, alongside some bread and linseeds.
We've gathered our best King Charles III inspired recipes to give you ideas on how to eat like a king and whip up a storm if you're celebrating the Kings' Coronation this year.
