Defending champions, the Las Vegas Aces have one of the most dominant teams in the WNBA today. While their squad is filled with immense talents like Kelsey Plum and Chelsea Gray there is no denying that A’ja Wilson is the most important piece of this Aces team. The 2x WNBA MVP led the team to their first-ever WNBA title last season and is looking to add a second as they begin their playoff journey by hosting the Chicago Sky in Vegas. Despite only being drafted to the league in 2018, Wilson has grown considerably and ranks 5th in WNBA history in scoring average, among players who have played at least 80 games. The first overall pick of her draft class, Wilson has developed into a fabulous two-way player with her defensive acumen being a step above the rest. This is reflected in her performances as well with the forward being awarded the Defensive Player of the Year award last season.
However, while the former WNBA Rookie of the Year continues to make a name for herself on the court very little is known about her off it. Despite being one of the more recognizable WNBA players, Wilson chooses to have a quiet life and reportedly spends most of her time with her boyfriend. So, one cannot help but wonder about this mystery man, bringing us to the question – Who is A’ja Wilson’s boyfriend? Well, here is all you need to know about the undrafted NBA prospect.

WNBA star A’ja Wilson, although quite popular herself, has successfully managed to keep her private life out of the media as not many people are aware of her long-standing relationship with her boyfriend Josh Cunningham. Having allegedly met while they were still in high school, the couple seems to have taken considerable steps to keep their relationship afloat with the pair even touring the same campus (USC) during their college hunt.

Despite their maximum efforts, though, the two still had to part ways as Wilson chose to go to USC while Cunningham took his talents to the University of Dayton.
While the two pursued their respective paths they continued to stay in touch and after one thing led to another, the couple finally got together in 2018 and haven’t looked back since.
However, although she has mentioned her boyfriend during various instances, the couple continues to keep a low profile. The 2023 WNBA MVP candidate has spoken highly of her boyfriend on many occasions and in an interview in 2021 revealed her reasons behind dating him as she stated, “There’s just something about Josh. It’s his personality and who he is as a man that I just really enjoy. I enjoy having him as a boyfriend.”

Similar to his girlfriend, Cunningham is also a hooper but unlike her, he has been unable to make it to the big league despite his continued efforts. The 27-year-old was an undrafted prospect during the 2018 NBA draft and spent two months of the 2019-20 season suiting up for the G-league side Westchester Knicks. The forward was then released after just 6 games and spent a few years overseas where he continued to hone his trade.
While Cunningham hasn’t been able to replicate his girlfriend’s immense successes the forward isn’t less of a hooper by any means. Averaging 11.5 points and 6.9 rebounds and boasting a 58.2% field goal percentage during his time with Dayton, he was above average, to say the least. The 6’8 star was also a three-time captain for the Flyers and finished his collegiate career with 964 points in three seasons while being ranked 52nd all-time at the University of Dayton.
