In this Evony Guide, we look at one of the most rewarding PvP events in the game, the Battle of Constantinople (BoC). Like BoG, it is a Battlefield Event and offers great prizes for those taking part whether you win or lose. Keep reading below as we review everything you need to know about this event and some specific tips to help you score as many points as possible.

What is the Battle of Constantinople Event?
Much like the Battle of Gaugamela (BoG), the Battle of Constantinople (more commonly known as BoC for short) is a PvP event that sees 2 alliances battle it out for points on a special map. Points are earned by killing enemy troops and occupying event buildings. Unlike BoG, there are no Boss Monsters that spawn but there are Supply Carriages that can be intercepted to grant additional battlefield buffs to you and your team in a similar way to Huns Invasion. . The alliance with the highest cumulative score at the end of the event is the winner. The event lasts 2 hours from the moment it begins.
The event takes part weekly for qualifying Alliances with rewards paid out immediately at the end of the battle. Alliances can register for various time slots starting at server reset time on Friday and ending 24 hours later. You will be matched against an Alliance of similar power that has registered for the same time slot.
Again, like BoG, BoC is split up into Seasons with each one lasting for 4 rounds over 4 weeks. Final rankings are determined based on each alliance’s cumulative score across all 4 rounds. There are also rankings for your personal score across a season with rewards paid out on both categories. These rewards alone are a great reason to take part in BoC, however, it is also, alongside BoG, the best place to practice your PvP due to all Troops healing for free at the end of every battle whilst also granting your Generals experience for any battles they are involved in.
How to Register for the Battle of Constantinople (BoC)
The Evony Battle of Constantinople (BoC) is accessed through the Battlefield building with an Alliance R4 or R5 able to register for the event and select players to take part. However, there are a few criteria that must be met before you can actually register your alliance and players. These include:
- The alliance must be at least 15 days old.
- The alliance must be one of the server’s top 20 ranked alliances by power.
- Registered players must have been in the alliance for at least 3 days.
- Registered players must be at least Keep level 15.
As mentioned previously, the Battle of Constantinople (BoC) is a weekly event with the registration window opening 1 day before the event starts. You can choose from 9 different time slots that you would like to take part in. Each of the time slots is shown in your local time and therefore it is best to communicate availability using the time slot numbers when checking who wants to take part. Once selected you can then pick up to 20 players from your alliance who you would like to register. Any R4 or R5 in the alliance can do this up until the registration window closes.
How to Enter the Battle of Constantinople (BoC)
If you have been selected to take part in the event, then you can enter the battlefield immediately once your registered time slot has begun. To enter, simply select your Battlefield building once your time slot has begun. The building will have a crossed sword symbol above it once this has happened. Selecting it and confirming the pop-up will teleport you to the special Evony BoC map. However, before being allowed to enter, you must ensure you meet the following restrictions:
- You cannot have any wounded troops.
- You cannot have any marches out of your Keep.
If you miss the start of the event, you do not need to worry as you can enter at any time that your timeslot is still live. However, of course, it is a good idea to ensure you get at the start so you can help your alliance out and increase your own personal score for better rewards.
Battle of Constantinople (BoC) Gameplay
When you first enter BoG you will be placed in a random spot within your Alliance’s starting area. The starting areas are found in the far right and far left of the Battlefield map. In addition, the first 5 minutes of any BoG are considered preparation time during which you cannot teleport or attack other players. Use this time to look at the enemy starting area, discuss tactics, and get your marches ready.
Once the 5 minutes of preparation time are over, you can start teleporting around the Battle of Gaugamela (BoG) map in order to attack objectives or enemy players. Points are earned by killing enemy Troops, killing Boss Monsters, and capturing buildings. The alliance with the highest cumulative score at the end of the event is declared the winner and will receive extra rewards.
Teleporting
When the Evony BoC Event first begins, each alliance has a total stock of 40 teleports they can use by using their own Advanced Teleports which allow you to teleport anywhere on the map except for the enemy alliance’s starting area. Once your stock of 40 teleports has been used up, your alliance will no longer be able to teleport regardless of whether or not they still have Advanced Teleports in their inventory. However, your alliance’s stock of teleports can be replenished by occupying the Portal buildings, with one teleport chance added to your stock for every 30 seconds that a Portal is occupied.
Healing
During the Evony BoC Event, any Troops that are killed will go directly to your Hospital, regardless of capacity constraints, and be automatically healed at the end of the battle. Sometimes you may need to restart Evony to see this take effect. Of course, you also heal your troops during the event if you wish, for example, if you are zeroed early on but believe there is more you can do. You can reduce the healing time by 60% for your entire alliance by capturing the Battlefield Hospital.
Supply Carriages
At certain points during the Battlefield, a Supply Carriage will begin marching towards one of the Crystal Mine buildings. Once it begins marching it will take 5 minutes to reach its destination and you can check where it is heading by navigating to it on the map. Whoever is occupying the Crystal Mine when it arrives at its destination gets to pick a buff from a selection of 10 different ones. These include buffs to the HP, Attack, and Defense of different troop types, troop healing, increased rally capacity, and more. These buffs can be just for you or for your whole team.
Buildings
In the Battle of Constantinople (BoC) Evony Event, there are 7 different building types on the map. Occupying each one will give you points alongside some other benefits. Each of these buildings and their benefits are outlined in the table below:
Building | Number | Description |
---|---|---|
Portal | 6 | Occupy for 30 seconds to earn 1 teleport chance for your Alliance. Occupy for 1 minute to gain 16 points. |
Blessing Tower | 2 | Occupy to increase Alliance attack and defense by 20%. Occupy for 1 minute to gain 16 points. |
Constantinople | 1 | Occupy for 1 minute to gain 80 points. |
Battlefield Hospital | 1 | Occupy for 1 minute to gain 16 points. |
Crystal Mine | 8 | Gain Supply Carriage buffs if you occupy the Crystal Mine they arrive at. Occupy for 1 minute to gain 16 points. |
Knight’s Hall | 1 | Occupy to let the Knights attack your opponent every 3 minutes. Occupy for 1 minute to gain 32 points. |
Rally Hall | 1 | Occupy to increase the whole Alliance’s rally capacity by 15%. Occupy for 1 minute to gain 16 points. |
Generals
In contrast to Troops, Generals cannot get wounded during the event even if your Keep is zeroed. Therefore, you do not need to worry about any of them being killed or captured during the event. In addition, they can gain a large amount of experience during battle thus making BoC a great place to level them up.
Subordinate Cities
Subordinate Cities can be used during BoC to assist you in battle, however, the Troops within them can be killed and won’t be healed at the end of the event. Despite this, they are important to use due to the additional buffs and the potential to level the Generals that are the mayor of them.
Traps
If your Keep has any traps built, these will be activated during Evony BoC at the usual rate when you are attacked. However, it is likely you will be hit many times which will deplete your number of traps severely. These are not repaired at the end of the event and it is therefore not recommended to build a huge amount of these if you are not prepared for the potential loss.
Truce Agreement (Bubble)
Within the battlefield, you cannot bubble your keep meaning you must use Ghosting to hide your Troops as in other PvP events such as BoG and the Server War. However, your Keep back on the regular world map for your server will gain a Red Bubble, protecting it and your Subordinates from attack during the course of the event. Your regular bubble time will also not be interrupted by taking part in the event.
BoC Map
As previously mentioned, when you enter the Battle of Constantinople (BoC) Evony event you are teleported into a special map. Upon first entering you are placed randomly within your alliance’s starting area at the far left or far right of the map (indicated by the grey areas on the map below). Dotted around the map, several buildings can be captured for points, amongst other things.
BoC Scoring
To maximize the rewards you gain during the event, you need to maximize your score. You will get rewards based on your personal score, your alliance score, and whether or not you win the battlefield based on the scores total for both alliances. In the following sections, we outline each of the different methods for gaining points.
Occupying Buildings
Once you have captured a building, you are able to occupy it with one of your troop marches for points. Every 1 minute that it is occupied you will gain points towards your score total. The number of troops you have occupying does not matter so in theory you can send just 1 troop if you wish.
Building | Points |
---|---|
Constantinople | 80 |
Crystal Mine | 16 |
Portal | 16 |
Blessing Tower | 16 |
Knight’s Hall | 32 |
Battlefield Hospital | 16 |
Rally Hall | 16 |
Please note, that if you are reinforcing a building that has already been occupied by another team member then you will receive 20% of the above scores for every minute that you are there. Points earned by reinforcers only count toward their personal score and not the alliance score.
Killing Enemy Troops
Every time you kill a certain number of enemy Troops you will gain points towards your score total. The points you gain will depend on the enemy troops’ level as outlined in the table below. Points are awarded per 1 million troops of each level killed. Especially in the lower levels of BoC, the return on killing troops is quite low and you are often better off focusing on capturing and keeping buildings.
Troop Level | Points |
---|---|
1 | 2.2 |
2 | 6.7 |
3 | 11.1 |
4 | 17.8 |
5 | 24.4 |
6 | 33.3 |
7 | 42.2 |
8 | 51.1 |
9 | 60.0 |
10 | 71.1 |
11 | 84.4 |
12 | 100.0 |
13 | 115.6 |
14 | 133.3 |
15 | 155.6 |
16 | 177.8 |

BoC Rankings
How you rank over the course of a season in Evony Battle of Constantinople (BoC) plays a role in your eligibility for both the All-Stars and Chalons Battlefields. Split out into continents of servers the qualification for each of these events is outlined in the next sections.
All-Star Battlefield Qualification
All servers in Evony are split into continents based on their age with the idea being to group together the most similar servers. Each continent in turn then has its own All-Star Battlefield that the top players can qualify for. Within this, there are 3 divisions with the rewards being better for the higher divisions. The qualifications rules are as follows:
Division | Ranking |
---|---|
All-Star | Top 1 – 400 |
All-Star Elite | Top 401 – 800 |
All-Star Junior | Top 801 -1,200 |
Battle of Chalons Qualification
Whilst the All-Star Battlefield sees only the top players qualify, the Battle of Chalons is open to the top-ranking alliances in BoC for each continent. Again there are 3 different divisions within the Battle of Chalons which are as follows:
Division | Ranking |
---|---|
Major League | Top 1 – 256 |
Elite League | Top 257 – 1,280 |
Junior League | Top 1,281+ |
Tips and Strategy for Winning
The Evony Battle of Constantinople (BoC) is a seriously competitive PvP event with the huge rewards on offer, and possible Battle of Chalons and All-Stars qualification, seeing players putting in a lot of effort to place well. Consider implementing some of the tips and strategies below to help you and your alliance increase their score.
- Unlike BoG where you can Kill Monsters for points, there is a huge emphasis on controlling the buildings in BoC. In particular, you will want to try and hold the Constantinople and Knight’s Hall buildings which offer the most points.
- Don’t waste teleports, with only 40 going, these are quickly depleted with a full roster of 20 players taking part. Make sure each move you take is considered and perhaps agree beforehand on a role for each player that will determine how often / where they will be teleporting. Likewise, you will want to control as many Portal buildings as possible. This will have the dual function of replenishing your supply whilst also starting your enemy from movement.
- Make sure you understand how to ghost your Troops. This is a key strategy in PvP and not using it is a quick way to get yourself zeroed.
- Communicate with your alliance during the event by sharing the location of the enemy and agree on tactics to take down big keeps or capture buildings. Having a voice chat is a great place to start.
- If you hold the Knight’s Hall, watch the battle lines of the Troops it is sending to attack the enemy. These will lead you directly to their Keeps, allowing you to launch attacks without much searching.
- The Crystal Mines are pretty low value overall, however, you should fight for these when there is a Supply Carriage heading their way. If you hold the mine when the Supply Carriage arrives, you are able to select a buff for you or your alliance. These can stack significantly over the course of a 2-hour battlefield.
- Make sure you are maximizing your personal score by reinforcing buildings for 20% of the occupation points every 60 seconds. However, only do this when it is tactically sound, and also make sure you focus on the highest-scoring buildings.
